» » HURPES demands campaign against drugs, alcohol abuses

Kathmandu, Feb 8: A delegation from the Human Rights and Peace Society ( HURPES) today called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, requesting him to announce a National Campaign against drugs and alcohol abuses.

During the meeting that took place at the PM's official residence Baluwatar, the Prime Minister responded the Society's call very positively, expressing his belief that such move would send a positive message to the society.  

He pledged to take the suggestion into account, according to Society Chair Gangadhar Adhikari. 
  
The Society also demanded the formation of a special body under the Chair of Prime Minister to combat abuses of drugs and alcohol.

 The delegation consisted of society founding President Krishna Pahadi, founding member Krishna Kandel, Vice President Renuka Poudel and General Secretary Uttam Puadasaini.
