» » Revolving fund set up to bankroll best player award

Paancthar, Dec 20: A revolving fund has been established here in Phidim driven with an aim to finance an annual award conferred on the best player of the Falgunanda Gold Cup Football Tournament.

The fund was set up in the memory of a local youth entrepreneur, Ananda Khatri,  who had died in an ambulance accident in Ilam last year. The fund was established by Paancthar Service Society and Ananda's father and social worker, Modani Prasad Khatri.

With Rs 50,000 each coming from the Society and Ananda's father, the fund currently has an account of Rs 100,000.  The fund will be used to confer the best player award in the tournament held annually by Phidim Sporting Club, said Society's Chairman Shahar Singh Tamang.
