» » TMDP chairman Thakur says constitution amendment proposal not concrete

Kathmandu, Nov 23: Chairman of the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), Mahantha Thakur has said his party is waging a struggle to liberate the Madhesi community which is under 'internal colonialism'.

Speaking at the party membership distribution programme held at the party office at its central
office in Bijuli Bazaar on Wednesday, he said the struggle would continue until the rights of the Madhes and the Madhesis are secured.

Thakur stated that although the constitution amendment process has proceeded ahead, the ruling and the opposition parties are yet to bring a concrete proposal on this. The proposal would be entertained only if it addresses our demands, he added.

Party vice-chairman Brishesh Chandra Lal and central member Chandra Chaudhary said the membership campaign has been run to make the party's organisation up to the mark.
