Chitwan, Sept 25: Three people died, while three others, including former Home Minister, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, have gone missing when a jeep plunged into the Trishuli River near Darhechowk VDC-3 along the Prithvi Highway Sunday afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Ghimire's mother, relative Ram Chandra Karki and security guard Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Armed Police Force, Narayan Kafle, according to Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Binod Prakash Singh.
Three including Ghimire have gone missing, he added. Similarly, the jeep driver Bishnu Rai sustained injury in the accident.
The accident took place when a jeep (Ba 9 Cha 1531) was heading towards Kathmandu from Muktinath via Pokhara. Injured Rai is being brought to Bharatpur for treatment and search for the missing was underway, said Singh.
A total of seven people were riding in the jeep.
