Kathmandu, Aug 26: The Nepali Congress has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives when a bus plunged into the Trishuli River along the Muglin-Narayangadh road early Friday.

A press release issued by Party Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel stated that the NC paid tribute to those killed in the accident and extended heartfelt condolences to the respective family members. 

Similarly, the NC also whished speedy recovery to those injured in the accident. Urging all parties to involve in rescue and relief tasks, it demanded the government for effective rescue and relief works and the treatment to the injured ones.

A total of 22 people were killed in the accident as the bus (Ga 1 Kha 3709) heading towards Pokhara from Rautahat skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River.
NSU New Committee meets

The first meeting of the new working committee of the Nepal Students Union held at NC Party Office, Sanepa, on Friday.

The meeting stressed that the NSU should itself take initiative for the NSU election. It discussed on various issues including NSU's organisational agenda, education, NSU election and role of NSU in constitution implementation, said Vice-President, Ram Prasad Adhikari.
