» » Minister Pun urges for effective monitoring of essential goods

            Kathmandu, July 6: Minister for Supplies Ganeshman Pun has called for cooperation from the State and the public to make the monitoring of daily essentials more effective.

            Minister Pun who made an on-site visit at the Water Processing Factory at Patan Industrial Area here today told the journalists that such monitoring would be made nation-wide for which he reiterated for the cooperation from all sides.

            Stating that the essential like water was directly connected with human life, Pun instructed the water manufacturing company to regularly examine the quality of the drinking water and take special account in the cleaning and sanitation of accessories used by the workers in the factory.

            Also, Minister Pun assured of taking action against the culprits who attacked the member of the monitoring team o at a vegetable market in Balkhu in the capital city recently.

            A team comprising officials from the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DoFRQC) also monitored an ice cream factory and Pashupati Food's factory during the inspection upon which it directed the latter to destroy two litres of contaminated butter.

            Similarly, Director at the Department of Supply Management and Consumer Welfare Protection Laxman Shrestha directed the management at the Pashupati Foods to issue appointment letter to many of its workers.

            The management has also been asked to come to the DoFRQC with its documents on the operation of the Factory within three days.
