Kathmandu, May 23: Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Dr Mazhar Javed called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

      During the meeting, PM Oli told Ambassador Javed that the Nepal-Pakistan relations would move ahead on the basis of peace, mutual faith, understanding and interests, PM's press advisor Pramod Dahal said. The Prime Minister also stressed on working together towards the path to economic development.

      The Prime Minister shared that the newly-promulgated constitution has addressed aspirations of all people and that Nepal has moved ahead on the way to economic development and to implement the constitution. He also stressed on moving ahead on the basis of mutual faith and understanding between the two countries as the South Asia is ahead in terms of its civilisation, culture, language and human norms and values and that there are various opportunities for development.

      Pakistani Ambassador Javed said historic relations persist between Nepal and Pakistan, and added that Pakistan wants to further strengthen it.

      Expressing possibility of further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the education sector, he said that the Pakistani government is planning to increase scholarship quotas for Nepali students seeking higher education in Pakistan.
