» » First national convention of MJFND concludes

Biratnagar, 5 May: The first national convention of the Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum Nepal-Democratic (MJFND) has ended in Biratnagar, Morang on Thursday.
The convention unanimously elected Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar as the party's Chairman and 42 other members as the party's central committee member. The party's statute was also revised.
  A total of 2,800 representatives and observers from various 62 districts attended the national convention which started from May 2, according to Bharatendu Mallik, Chairman of MJFND, Morang Chapter.
  The meeting of the newly elected central executive will decide a new name of the party after soliciting suggestions from the cadres.
  Speaking on the closing day of the convention, newly elected Party Chairman Gachchhadar stated that his party had been playing role to usher country further ahead on the basis of national unity, political stability and consensus.

  He argued that the national issues would be only resolved by forging consensus among Madheshi Morcha besides other major and minor parties. Gachchhadar, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, pledged that he was ready to hold consultations with Nepali Congress, the major opposition, and the ruling party CPN (UML) for the formation of the national unity government.
