» » CPN (Maoist-Center) forms nine-member headquarters

Kathmandu, May 23: CPN (Maoist-Center) has constituted a nine-member headquarters under the convenorship of party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

      A meeting of the party central committee held here  Monday  formed the party's new office that includes  Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Dev Prasad Gurung, Matrika Yadav, Mani Thapa, Tilak Pariyar and Jaypuri Gharti.

      The formation of the secretariat and politburo is undergoing, the party said.
According to party leader Dinanath Sharma, proposals have been made to form the Secretariat comprising 49-51 members while a 151-member politburo has been proposed and the Headquarters is expected to decide on these matters.   

      Meanwhile, the party has planned to hold a mass meeting in the capital on coming June 18.

      Mass meetings and interaction programmes in other parts of the country have been scheduled for the near future. 

      Meanwhile, Pampha Bhusal has been appointed the Spokesperson for the party. Likewise, a 13-member high-level taskforce has been constituted to determine the organisational structure of the party leadership.  Bhusal, Janardan Sharma, Prabhu Saha, Urmila Aryal, Hitman Shakya, Khagaraj Bhatta, Basanta Gharti and Kul Prasad KC are among those included in the task force.

      The party has decided to organise provincial gatherings after the unification from June 2-25.  It may be noted that various 10 Maoist parties including UCPN (Maoist), CPN (Maoist-Revolutionary), CPN (Maoist) ,  Revolutionary Communist Party, CPN (Maoist) Rebel faction reunited on May 19 to form the CPN (Maoist-Center).
