Kathmandu, Feb 24: The government has formed a probe commission on Tara airplane crash which claimed the life of all 23 including crew members onboard.

The meeting chaired by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ananda Prasad Pokhrel, formed the commission under the coordination of former director general of the civil aviation authority of Nepal, Rajesh Raj Dali, said Ministry Secretary Prem Kumar Rai.

The members of the commission are engineer Dipak Bastola of Nepal Army, senior engineer of Simrik Air Ram Prasad Koirala, captain of Nepal Airlines Corporations, Subash Rimal and Ministry Joint Secretary Suresh Man Acharya.

Meanwhile, Search and Rescue Coordination Centre of the Tribhuvan International Airport has expressed deep grief over the accident which claimed the life of all on board.

The Tara Air plane flown from Pokhara to Jomsom at 7:50am crashed at the Solighopte cliff of Dana VDC of Myagdi.

Among the people on board, 18 were adults, two minors, one Kuwaiti national and another Chinese.  Sixteen of them were Nepalis.

The Centre further said a rescue team comprising Nepal Army, Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force personnel has been mobilized.
