Kathmandu 27 jan.- Mahendra Raya Yadav, the chairman of Tarai Madhesh Sadbhawana Party, said on Tuesday that the ongoing agitation should be reviewed and its form changed as normal life has been crippled. According to him, the UDMF is likely to review the agitation in its meeting this week.
Dubbing the ongoing agitation as a nonviolent movement, he, however, said it should be further intensified, and extended to the hills and mountains also.

He claimed such a movement in Tarai, Pahad and Himal would strengthen the national unity. But if it failed then the agitation was likely to take a new course and go out of control, he said. He was speaking at an interaction with the media in Kathmandu.

Yadav dismissed the need for formation of a newer, greater alliance among Madhesi parties. According to him, other parties can come and join the alliance of nine parties (UDMF) instead of forming a new alliance.

Speaking at the same programme, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party’s General Secretary Jitendra Sonal said it was meaningless to spread the propaganda that the border obstruction would be lifted. According to him, the recent constitution amendment was not enough to convince the agitation parties to end the ongoing agitation.

The joint secretary of Sadbhawana party, Devendra Yadav, warned of a “stern response” from Madhes towards the unilateral amendment of constitution, which he said disregarded the aspirations of Madhesi people.

“Border would not open. (Obstruction) would be more severe,” he said.
Yadav, on the other hand, shared that a greater alliance of Madhesi parties was about to be built up.
